Preparation & Travel

ROTA II accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 cabins, all with their en-suite heads. Two Master cabins with double beds, one VIP cabin with a double bed and one Twin cabin with one upper and one lower bed. All cabins are of similar design with comfortable beds, 2 portholes, en-suite shower room, hanging cupboards, ample storage areas and independent climate control. Crew enjoys their own separate cabin and head.

Packing before arrival: During the summer months, you’ll need lightweight clothing, T-shirts, shorts, cotton slacks, jeans and shirts. In April and May and from mid-September through October, evenings and even some days may be cool, so please remember to bring a sweater, sweatshirt or pullover. We know beach towels can be a real burden in your travel luggage, especially for families. That’s why beach towels will be provided by us, so you won’t have to worry about carrying the extra weight. Just don’t forget to bring an extra swimsuit or two, since we just freed a lot of space for you!

Comfortable, informal clothing and equally comfortable shoes are a must for sightseeing in island cities, villages as well as ancient sites. For land trips a pair of long and light trousers and a shirt or T-shirt is advisable.

Life on the boat will generally be informal, so please keep in mind you don’t need big luggage. Besides that, hard suitcases are difficult to store in the cabins; soft bags are much more suitable.

Please do not forget to bring your medicines and your pills for allergies or seasickness for the first time cruisers.

If you have small children with you, please make sure to bring their special food and care products.

Shoes: ROTA II will be your home during the cruise so please feel comfortable. Whilst on board, please don’t wear any outdoor footwear. Flip-flops, soft/rubber soled footwear or boat shoes for getting around the deck is possible. Walking barefoot, though, is a true pleasure on board. You will only need standard shoes, trainers or walking sandals for trips ashore.

Bathrooms & showers: Each cabin has an en-suite shower with hot and cold water, a proper toilet, mirror and portholes. The boat has large holding tanks for dirty water. There is also a fresh water shower on deck for use after swimming.

WC/toilets: Toilets on board are electric marine toilets. A boat toilet is very complex & sensitive machinery that gets very easily blocked. Therefore please do not put any toilet paper or sanitary products down the toilets on board. Use the rubbish bins in the bathrooms, which will be emptied daily by the crew.

Towels/bed linen: We will supply bedding, sheets, blankets, covered pillows, hand towels, towels for showers and beach/swimming towels for each person.

Power/electricity: ROTA II is equipped with a 220V generator, which runs 24/7 for your convenience

Deck: Most of the deck area is Teak wood. There is lots of space on the decks for sunbathing, chatting, eating, drinking, reading, playing board games, etc. We have sun beds, tables, chairs and games available. If it gets too sunny we have sun tents and shaded areas, if it gets to windy please watch your belongings.

For your safety, please do not use sun oil on the decks, just lotion. Oil may create slippery surfaces.

Galley: The yacht’s spacious and fully equipped galley with large electric oven, electric stove, microwave oven, 3 refrigerators, 1 deep freezer/refrigerator, ice cube maker, etc. guarantee to cover all your culinary needs during the charter.

Mini bar: The mini bar is in operation during your travel offering bottled water, beverages, drinks and various options of snacks.

Life Jackets: The life jackets are stored under the beds in all cabins and in the common sitting areas.

Smoking: For safety reasons, smoking is prohibited in the cabins. Smoking is only permitted on deck areas and in the lounge. Please dispose of butts in the available ashtrays and take note of the fire safety instructions in your cabin.

Base / Itineraries / Mileage

Charters are available from April 18th to October 31st.

ROTA II is based in Athens, Greece but can also meet your party at any destination upon request at an extra cost. Athens is an ideal base for cruising in the Cyclades Islands (Mykonos, Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Syros, Ios, etc.), the Argo-Saronic Gulf Islands (Hydra, Poros, Spetses, Aegina, etc.) and the Ionian Islands (Lefkada, Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Paxi, etc.). She can also be delivered upon request to any Greek island or other destination, such as: Dodecanese Islands (Kos, Rhodes, Symi, Patmos, Samos, etc.), Halkidiki, Volos and Sporades Islands (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos, etc.). In addition to the Greek archipelago we also arrange to travel to any destinations you might want to visit on the coastline of Turkey.

Embarking: It is possible to board ROTA II from around 15:00. If you arrive earlier than this it may be possible for you to leave your luggage on the boat while the preparations are completed.

Disembarking: On your departure day you will need to disembark ROTA II after breakfast, at around 12:00, in order to give us enough time to prepare her for our next guests.

Itinerary: We cruise daily and two to three bays will be visited. It is possible in some bays to go ashore using the tender and some nights may be spent in harbors where you can get off the boat to explore the area on foot. There will be many places of interest to see. You may do this independently or on inquiry we can help with arranging vehicles for land tours, local guides, etc.

Very occasionally, due to certain circumstances such as weather or passenger/boat safety, your itinerary may have to be changed. When this does occur, please remember and respect that the captain’s decision is final.

The distance travelled per cruising hour is 9 miles and the daily cruise time cannot exceed six hours. In short the maximum distance you can travel in one day is 54 nautical miles. Indicative distance from Piraeus to Hydra is 38 miles, to Kea 45 miles and 53 miles to Spetses. The distances in between the islands are much shorter and with proper planning you will have the opportunity, during your weekly travel, to enjoy various islands and other destinations at a comfortable and enjoyable pace. Cruising time may vary depending on weather conditions.

Safety & insurance: The motorsailer meets all safety standards required and all occupants are covered by liability insurance. The shipping company is not liable for any loss of personal belongings and money.

Booking Calendar

Please consult the calendar below for the boat’s charter availability. Dates shown in green color are available for charter, whereas red color would indicate a booked date. Please note that the first and last days of a booked charter period are only half-red, which means that you can arrange to end or start respectively your charter on either of those days. This is possible because embarking is scheduled for 15:00 while disembarking is scheduled for 12:00.

Greyed out dates are considered off-season, during which M/S ROTA II is not available for charters. If you have a request for an event or a service that falls right into these off-season dates, then please use the relevant form on our contact page.

Contrary to the other contact forms on the website, that are used mostly for information requests, this is an actual reservation form where you can initiate your charter booking procedure. Completing and sending this form is not binding for you in any way whatsoever.

It is just a more convenient way to initiate communication and keep track of bookings. You can describe your travel plans either through this page or by the contact page form, email or phone. It’s all the same and you are welcome to choose your preferred method of communication; and in the fortunate event you choose to book a charter with us, then we will use our backend system to mark your charter days in red for the convenience of other future travel seekers.

If you decide to use this Booking Calendar, please make the most out of the message field. Tell us more about your ideal itinerary and anything else you find important to share with us towards designing the perfect holidays for you. Be as detailed as possible, including the names of the places you want to visit, how long you should stay in each one of them, any special events you might want to attend, etc. Last but not least, do not forget to pose any questions you have. We are here to help you!
